A bright shining star in high school and college with lots of promise, but I made some poor decisions that would affect the trajectory of my life forever. Sound familiar?

Imagine being married at 20 with a baby, no education, few job skills, trying to "live" on love. My parents cut me off, money was tight, stress levels were high and I was too proud to ask for help. Life was tough. Hubby joined the military and we moved as far away from home as possible. 

My Army soldier was gone to the field or deployed the majority of the time which meant I was living more like a single mom, with no support system. We lived separate lives, so was never really on the same page.  We was both miserable and unhappy. "Divorce" seemed inevitable. 

Moving from duty station to duty station every couple of years and raising three kids mostly by myself made it next to impossible to get a college education, have a "real" career or build a retirement account for myself.

I always had to start back at the bottom, taking any job that was available every single time we moved. I knew I was living far beneath my potential and became bitter because I felt life was so unfair to me!

I love reading and learning new things so it was only a matter of time before I discovered "self-help,"  and quickly became a self-professed personal development junkie.

Since I didn't have the time or money for college, the bargain bin textbook section at the local college bookstore was a big magnet for me. Anything business related I could find in there, I bought and devoured it like my life depended on it, because it DID.    

Due to my mobile lifestyle as a military spouse, my resume started looking like I was a job hopper. I needed potential employers and recruiters to look at my work history from a different perspective or else I wouldn't even be considered for the jobs posted. 

After I spent some time assessing what all I had learned in all those jobs, I realized that I had perfected the art and skill necessary to rapidly work myself up from the bottom to the top in a variety of industries and managerial capacities and had developed some amazing job skills. I started focusing on my job skills and industries served instead of all the jobs I'd held.

This was late 80's, before desktop publishing was a thing, but I learned how to transform my resume into a beautiful marketing piece instead of a traditional resume, which made it stand out against all my competitor applicants.  

I had a knack for identifying issues, solving problems, increasing revenue and decreasing expenses, which I began to learn was a very unique and valuable skill set for employers.

I loved being viewed more as a "consultant," than an employee and owners and managers began coming to me to get my advice or "take" on a situation. 

My paychecks started to reflect my real worth as I transitioned to negotiating my salary based on base pay plus results, not wage per hour. In some instances, I made more than some executives and senior partners!

When I was unable to find a job right away at a new duty station, I filled the gaps by always resorting back to my entrepreneurial roots and would just start up some sort of business that made sense at the time. One of my God-given gifts is that I never seem to be short on business ideas. I always had some sort of side gig going on and knew in my heart I was meant for MORE; way more. 

Finally earned my MBA, with honors. I was disappointed at how many business instructors was teaching theory and didn't have much recent, relevant work history to bring to the table, so when I had the opportunity to start teaching as an adjunct faculty member at several colleges and universities, I readily accepted. I loved it, always received superior evaluations from the students and it didn't take long before I rose through the ranks to Dean of Business, Director of Student Services and Director of Education; just one rung under the President. I was up for that role when we got the assignment to move to Europe. Not bad! :-)

I've been an entrepreneur since childhood and believe that "entrepreneurship" can solve the majority of the problems families face today. I've seen first-hand how financial stress destroys marriages, ruins careers and is bad for your health and sanity. I don't want that to happen to you!

I've always been a "business idea generator;" full of fantastic million dollar business ideas, but no way to bring them to fruition. I didn't have the internet, access to crowdfunding or mentors. I missed a ton of opportunities through the years and have made it my mission that if ever given the chance, I'd find a solution to make sure that didn't happen to other entrepreneurs. 

I currently have built 14 streams that are producing a six-figure income. I created a wealth building program where I share 80% of any revenue generated with those who support my efforts.  

I teach everyday people how to leverage entrepreneurship as a tool to create, fund and live lives worth smiling and talking about.

2023 Update: Nancy spent 23 years as a military spouse, globetrotting around the world with her military husband. Rob and Nancy have been married 40 years, have three grown, married children and eight grandchildren.  They were able to retire to their dream destination of Northwest Florida; a 120 mile stretch of sugar white sand and emerald green water in 2009.
